Macworld 2009

Friday, January 9th, 2009

This years Macworld in San Francisco’s Moscone Center was a true bonanza. My experience this year can be summed up to the following activities: useless products, truly innovative products, free stuff, raffles, and more raffles.

Thousands of people from around the world come to Macworld this year. Young and the old from all facids of life come together to appreciate the Apple craze that spreads like wildfire. Mac fanatics were all over the place wearing over the top clothing that made me think they just came from Burning Man. Sometimes you can spot a celebrity or two at Macworld (Sinbad this year). Bloggers where everywhere with their pads, notebooks, and video cameras. Live streaming idiots where showcasing their favorite technology picks, and I even saw iJustine herslelf making her rounds with her infectious smile.

Clipta Video Search attends 2008 S.V.O.D.

Monday, November 24th, 2008

Clipta Video Search staff and I attended the Fourth Annual Silicon Valley Open Doors (SVOD) event on November 20th-21st.  The SVOD conference assembled a diverse audience of venture capitalists and specialists representing premier venture capital funds along with early state companies and entrepreneurs.

As soon as we arrived to the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California, we were greeted with anxious and open arms (special thanks to Rebecca for all her help!). Whether we were participating in the exhibition, listening to powerful speakers, or enjoying the delightful buffet, Clipta Staff was thankful for all the interesting events put on by SVOD.

I was especially thrilled to  met with an array of technology experts including Guy Kawasaki (Managing Director of Garage Technology Ventures), Ester Dyson (Director of 23 and Me), Daniel Rosensweig (Operating Principal, Quadrangle Group LLC; formerly COO of Yahoo!; President of CNET Networks; CEO of ZDNet, Inc), and many others.

We were excited and honored to exhibit at SVOD this year, and thank all of those who showed interest in Clipta Video Search and its products.

Check out some photos from the event:

Got Hooked? Clipta Video News Search defeats all others

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Today I switched from watching news on TV to watching video news on Clipta Video News Search (http://news.clipta.com). Ever since my job demanded that I sit at my computer all day long, I have been looking for a website where I could find the most recent breaking news, from more than just one source. CNN was my outlet. But I soon got agitated with only getting Wolf Blizter at the Situation room, and random video news clips that I had to endlessly sort through.

Like an internet ‘TV-Guide’, Clipta news search made it more appealing, fun, and simple to find news from the leading news content providers. After messing around with the site for a day, I was hooked. It was such a relief to be able to use the timeline to search back as far as I wanted, with news updated almost immediately. I was itching to get Jimmy Kimmel’s ABC news clips from before the election, and there it was! The Clipta news videos are streamed with incredible speed and delivered in the highest of quality. I now get enjoy a much larger selection of premium news providers, not just CNN …no offense Mr. Blizter.

If you have not checked out Clipta News Search yet, beware…you’ll get hooked too.

Wassup 2008

Friday, October 31st, 2008

It’s been eight long years since the boys said “wassup” to each other. Even with the effects of a down economy and imminent change in the White House, the boys are still able to come together and stay true to what really matters.

What an awesome ending to a powerful message. I gotta say, the boys know “wwaaaasssssuuuuuppppp”!

Clipta helped my golf swing

Friday, October 24th, 2008

Today I was looking for a video to help me with my golf swing. For months now, I have been having a wicked slice that keeps sending my ball to the other side of the golf course.  I even hit some dude the other day who was putting on another hole. Luckily he was a nice guy who didn’t decide to make my life miserable and sue me. It’s irritating and I can’t take it anymore. Lessons these days cost an arm and a leg. I consider myself to have a fairly good visual memory, so I thought it would be a good idea to look at a golf pros golf swing.

I started searching on clipta.com for “Tiger Woods Swing Vision”, and luckily I found a great clip that shows Tigers swing in slow motion. It’s just incredible that he can keep his body so still while taking his backswing. It then hit me, I could put this video on my ipod using clipta’s converter. This way I can visually remind myself what I need to do with my backswing while on the course. I decided to download the video from my Clipta toolbar to my desktop. I already had the Clipta converter downloaded, and decided that I should convert it to mp4 format so that I could send this video to my ipod classic. It worked out perfectly and I was able to watch the video last week when I was playing 18.

After eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new Clipta Toolbar 1.3, I am impressed.

The new Clipta toolbar has several unique features that all users can, and should, take advantage of:

  • A search bar that gives you instant access to the millions of videos in Clipta’s database.

Enjoy the interactive 3D wall of video display as you find and discover your favorite videos. In addition, the Clipta toolbar enables you to link, embed and share viewed videos directly to over 20 of your favoirte websites (including MySpace, Facebook, Bebo, Friendster and many others).

Upload is back up again

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

As the title says the upload is up again. We apologise again for the inconvenience.

“Upload has been temporarily disabled”

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

We were forced to disable the uploads due the fact we should have received some servers last Friday and as you can see we didn’t. The “encoding issues” we had Sunday we’re caused by the same thing, but then we could delete some extra files to make some more room but now the servers hard-drives are 100% full. We hope our servers weren’t kidnapped by the Talibans and will come soon. :)

We’re very sorry for what happened but right now there’s nothing we can do till the servers arrive…unless anyone could invent a teleporter …anyone? :)
