OBAMA….OBAMA…..OBAMA

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Yesterday, Barack Hussein Obama was inaguarated as the 44th president of the United State of America. Millions around the world were glued to their tv sets or their monitors. I spent my time on Clipta News so that I could see clip highlights rather than watching all the boring stuff in between.

Everyone is interested in the every day life of the Obama’s. They are of course the most famous people on the planet. Even the Obama’s trying to find a dog has become an important topic for Americans. Its pretty ridiculous if you ask me. I can care less what kind of dog he gets. Nevertheless, people are overly concerned with what dog the Obama’s should get, and just recently a headline story has caught my attention. A little boy in Pennsylvania is offering his puppy to the Obamas. He even wrote a letter attached with a picture of the dog, and it is now in the hands of a senator that is promising to deliver it to the Obama’s. Pure garbage news that should not even see the light of day unless they actually decided to accept the dog from the boy. Even then it should still be as important as a guy in Texas deciding to name his diner after ex-president Bush. If you want your 15 minutes of fame just call up your local TV station and let them know your are offering stuff to the Obama’s.

Miracle on the Hudson

Friday, January 16th, 2009

Yesterday’s US Airways plane crash on the Hudson River in New York City is truly a miracle. Pilot Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger III of Daniville, CA, safely landed flight 1549. Sully’s experience and training paid off more than he thought it would ever pay off. He is now considered a national hero for landing the plan safely in the water and saving 155 lives.

From what I heard on various news providers on Clipta News, is that a bunch of ducks flew into the path of the plane and jammed both engines at once. This is considered to be a very rare occurrence. Usually, only one engine gets damaged and the other engine still allows the plane to fly and land safely on a runway. Statistically, 1 out of 10,000 planes have accidents with flying birds getting sucked into the engines of a plane (ouch!!).

In today’s rough world with bad news constantly being regurgitated by the media, it’s refreshing to actually hear some good news. A heroic act is always news worthy. I wish more people would try to do good things to become famous, rather than the crazies out there killing people to get their name in the paper.

I am sure that some producer in Hollywood will take advantage of this incident and try to monetize on it. “Miracle on the Hudson” will probably be the best fitting title for the movie. If it ever does become a movie, I probably won’t watch it. What’s the point, I already know how it ends.

Converting to Clipta News

Monday, December 15th, 2008

I was moving into my new apartment in South Beach district of San Francisco this weekend. The amenities in my building are far better than the last place I lived, which had no amenities. One of the amenities at my new place is the 24 hour Concierge service.

I just moved and already the concierge service has been very useful. I had to use a luggage cart to haul in a bunch of stuff so I went over to the concierge desk to ask for it.

The concierge was in the middle of watching a new video on CNN.com as I walked around his desk to get the cart. It was now my duty to let him know about Clipta News. I told him that not only can you watch CNN videos on Clipta News, but he can also watch other top new sources on Clipta News without having to venture to other sites. He was happy to take a look and I showed him not only can he see multiple news sources on an easy to use platform, but also the capabilities to go back into time to see what news was broadcasted the day and time he was interested in.

I then left him be to check it out while I continued my moving process. By the way, moving sucks! I must hold some sort of record for moving to so many different apartments within the same city in the last 5 years (7 apartments).

After I was done using the luggage cart, I brought it back to the concierge and the guy was still on Clipta News. He said that he was convinced and willing to convert to using Clipta News from now on. The best part about it is that it is only going to get better with the future release of many more news providers, and the implementation of news categories.

One down….millions more to go. :)
